1. Engine Speed Sensor

The sensor is used as a reference point to connect with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu needs to know when the crankshaft reached TDC and also where the camshaft lies in order to activate the spark and injectors.
If this sensor fails, the ECU will display the P00160 error, which means the Crank Shaft and Intake Camshaft are out of sync and could indicate the chain is stretched or a jump link on the upper timing chain. The code won't show without the additional information provided by other sensors (G4 or G40).
Testing is a bit tricky because there are two pins for the connector and they perform different functions however the best method of testing it is to measure the resistance between the sensor and the ECU. If the sensor is operational, it should read approximately 1000 ohms. Look for signs of coolant or oil in the connector bay if you have problems with this part.
2. Injectors
Yesterday accelerating full speed from highway paytoll, I experienced massive power loss like the engine is running out of gas or the injectors aren't firing any more. This morning i pull out the spark plugs, 3 were drenched in gazoline, the fourth was dry. When I start the engine without sparks i put tissue on the top of each of the injector holes and the 3 drenched with gazoline pop out, but the 4th one stays closed. I inspected the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55,30/55 and 48/55 i get zero ohm. I'm assuming that the issue is elsewhere.
I also tried to reset the PID without success. The car will start when the G28 is unplugged, and it works fine when the G28 plugged in. However the intermittent misfire issue still occurs at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62) even when unplugged, still shows a temperature of -49c. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bars but the actual pressure is zero.
I don't know what to do. I feel like i've pretty much all other possibilities out. But i'm worried that i might have missed something. If anyone has any suggestions, please chime in! TIA!
3. Fuel Pump
The fuel pump of the g28 receives a signal from the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter is the same as the G4 and both function in the 80, 100, 200, UrS and RS2 cars so you can easily find one at a wrecking yard or from a parts store. It is simple to test them - simply switch your DMM into resistance mode and measure the distance between pins 1 and 2 (with the bump at the connector end facing up). They should be infinite Ohms.
4. ECU
The ECU in our 20vt turbo (3B AAN ABY ADU) engines needs to know both the position and speed the crankshaft to make decisions regarding timing of the fuel injector, etc. In order to do this it uses a Crank Position Sensor (G4) and an Engine Speed Sensor (G28). If you have a problem with either of these, the diagnostic scanner will display codes that could cause the engine shutting down.
A malfunctioning G28 sensor could result in an inaccurate speed counter for the gearbox or a gearbox that shifts faster than normal, or an unfire when in the gear. It is probable that your sensor is failing and requires to be replaced if you experience any of these symptoms. The good news is that they are very affordable and readily available, especially if you're looking at the Bosch unit like ours. Alternately, the GM version of this unit is also a great option.
5. Tachometer
A malfunctioning engine sensor can cause a number of problems within your vehicle. It is an important part of the transmission in your
audi car key holder since it sends information to the ECU about how fast or slow the engine is spinning. If this sensor fails, it will affect the performance of the transmission and the other car's components.
The G5 engine speed sensor is located at the outside of the transmission just above the flywheel ring gear and sends a signal directly to the ECU at pin T55/49, via a grey wire. The ECU then uses and processes this signal to control the flow of fuel, timig and boost, and also transmitting it to the G5 Tachometer located in the instrument cluster. You can check for sensor failure by examining the continuity from the sensor to the tachometer. Also, you can examine the continuity between pins T55/49 of the ECU and pin T6a/1 of the instrument cluster (trace [79trace [79]), and between pin T6a/1 and pin T26a/12.
